Anthurium Care Sheet
Light: , Bright light, but no direct sun. Hot, direct sunlight can cause scorch marks on the leaves that look like dry, brown patches. Ideally kept in temperatures above 15°c and away from cold drafts
Water: Water thoroughly to ensure that all the roots are watered, and allow excess to run off. Wait till the top couple inches of potting mix is dry before watering again. Water less often in autumn and winter, but don’t allow potting medium to dry out. Yellow leaves indicate over-watering
Soil/Nutrition: Coarse, well-draining houseplant or orchid potting mix, feed monthly in spring and summer
Humidity: Enjoys high humidity. Place with other plants, or use a pebble tray to replicate the humid rainforest environment. Do not mist leaves, as this can cause brown marks
Pruning and propagation: Remove old, faded leaves and flowers, and keep leaves dust free. Can be propagated by either stem cuttings or by splitting the plant in spring
